The symbols of Lutsk city council were adopted by the decision of the session of Lutsk city council on August 23, 2007. City symbols are the property of the city council, and may be used only with the permission of the proprietor. The seal of the city of Lutsk is appointed for unofficial use (for the document «Honoured citizen of the city», diploma, congratulatory letters, gratitudes, etc).
Description of Lutsk City Coat of ArmsIn a shield with a rounded lower part (so called Spanish) in the red field there is a silver emblem figure of St. Mykolay in complete Episcopal dress barefoot. The basic Episcopal features – nimbus, patrix, stole and the Gospel – are gold. In the right hand St. Mykolay holds a patrix, which symbolizes the victory of Christians over forces of the east and the submission of elemental forces. In the left hand He holds an unfolded book that symbolizes the Gospel and defense of Divine forces. The bare feet symbolize the mythological functions of weather manager and water element.
Colour Symbolism: Red paint is courage and victory, spillover blood for faith. Gold is breeding, justice, mercy, gentleness, spirituality. Silver is riches, innocence, beauty, sincerity. Gold with red is freedom, stability, independence. Silver with red is courage. Description of Lutsk City FlagRectangular shape with correlation of sides 1:1, divided into four equal parts. Upper left and lower right quadrants are red. The other two other quadrants are yellow. On the upper left (red) part there is a silver (white) cross of Volyn. The flag combines the colors of the symbols of the city of Lutsk and Volyn.
